ENDRA Life Sciences (NASDAQ: NDRA) is a medical technology company pioneering advancements in ultrasound imaging. Its flagship innovation, the Thermo-Acoustic Enhanced Ultrasound (TAEUS) system, provides clinicians with real-time, cost-effective insights into tissue composition, starting with liver fat quantification for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).
Unlike MRI or biopsy, which can be expensive and invasive, ENDRA’s TAEUS technology aims to make liver assessment accessible in everyday healthcare settings. By integrating with more than 250,000 ultrasound systems already in use worldwide, ENDRA expands the capabilities of a trusted medical tool to deliver new diagnostic information at the point of care.
Led by a team with deep experience in imaging, healthcare innovation, and commercialization, ENDRA Life Sciences is working to transform how clinicians evaluate and manage chronic liver conditions.
5 Reasons Why ENDRA Life Sciences Could Be Positioned to Impact the Future of Diagnostic Imaging
Rapid Liver Fat Assessment: ENDRA’s TAEUS (Thermo‑Acoustic Enhanced Ultrasound) platform allows clinicians to quantify liver fat in under a minute. By combining ultrasound with radio-frequency energy, the technology delivers tissue composition information that standard ultrasound cannot, providing fast, actionable data without the need for complex imaging systems.
Non‑Invasive, Cost‑Effective Diagnostics: Many traditional diagnostic methods for steatotic liver disease rely on invasive biopsy procedures or costly MRI scans. TAEUS offers a non-invasive, lower-cost alternative that has the potential to expand access to liver health assessment in a wide range of clinical settings.
Expanding Clinical Applications: While the initial focus is on liver fat measurement, ENDRA’s platform has broader applications. TAEUS can assist clinicians in visualizing tissue temperature during energy-based surgical procedures and may be used to detect arterial plaque or internal bleeding, supporting a variety of medical and surgical diagnostic needs.
Large Addressable Market: Steatotic liver disease affects over two billion people globally, representing a significant unmet clinical need. By providing a scalable, point-of-care diagnostic solution, ENDRA’s technology has the potential to make advanced tissue assessment more accessible to patients and healthcare providers worldwide.
Seamless Integration with Existing Systems: TAEUS is designed to complement existing B‑mode ultrasound machines, allowing healthcare facilities to enhance current imaging infrastructure without investing in costly new equipment. This compatibility supports broader adoption and practical implementation across hospitals, clinics, and outpatient care centers.

TAEUS sends small pulses of radiofrequency energy into the body to gently excite tissue at the molecular level.

An ultrasound transducer then detects the resulting sound waves, translating them into detailed information about tissue composition.

The system overlays this data onto conventional ultrasound images, giving clinicians a clearer, more complete view of what’s happening inside the body.

Excess fat buildup in the liver, known as steatosis, is the underlying cause of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) — conditions that together affect more than one billion people worldwide.
NAFLD and NASH are silent yet serious liver conditions that often show no symptoms until it’s too late. While both can be reversed if detected early, they can progress into advanced fibrosis, cirrhosis, or even liver cancer when left unchecked. Early detection is absolutely critical identifying these diseases in their earliest stages could make the difference between full recovery and irreversible damage.
